How Cruelx works: the AI Visibility Scan, the website audit reports, pricing, and what happens to your data.
About Cruelx
What is Cruelx?
Cruelx makes 2 products that show you how your business is seen: the AI Visibility Scan and the AI-powered website audit report.
The AI Visibility Scan measures whether popular AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude mention and recommend your business when buyers ask, engine by engine.
The website audit report reviews your website across 5 areas: SEO, technical setup, marketing and brand, design, and buyer psychology, with a specific fix attached to every finding.
You get the diagnosis and the plan, not a list of warnings to interpret yourself.
Why should I audit my website?
A website audit tells you why visitors leave without buying. Your analytics show that it is happening; an audit shows why.
Cruelx checks the 3 audiences every page has to satisfy at once: visitors who decide in seconds, search engines that need structure, and buyers who need proof before they trust you.
Most websites lose people on at least 1 of the 3. The report names which, and what to fix first.
Buying now starts in 2 places: AI answers and your website. The Cruelx AI Visibility Scan checks what the engines say about you; the website audit report checks what visitors see when they arrive.
Is Cruelx just another SEO audit tool?
Cruelx is not just an SEO tool. SEO is 1 of the 5 areas it scores.
The other 4 are the ones SEO tools skip: technical quality, marketing and brand clarity, design credibility, and buyer psychology. A website can rank well and still fail to convert, and it can look polished and still say nothing convincing.
Cruelx reviews the whole experience, the one a visitor and a search engine both see.
The AI Visibility Scan covers the newest gap: whether ChatGPT, Gemini and the other AI answer engines recommend your business when buyers ask them directly. No SEO rank tracker measures that.
Can I just ask ChatGPT to review my website instead?
ChatGPT gives you general advice; Cruelx gives you your own numbers. A chat model on its own cannot load your site reliably, render it on desktop and mobile, or measure your security, SSL, DNS and domain signals.
Cruelx runs a structured pipeline: it loads your page, captures desktop and mobile screenshots, extracts your content, runs 17 measured technical checks, and analyses all 5 areas with vision-capable models.
The result is a scored report about your website, not advice about websites in general.
A single chat also cannot tell you what AI says about your business to everyone else. The Cruelx AI Visibility Scan measures that: it asks the AI engines the questions your buyers ask, many times over, and reports how often each one names you.
Is Cruelx worth it for a new or small website?
Cruelx is most useful early, when problems are still cheap to fix. A weak headline, a missing trust signal or a confusing offer costs the same to correct on day 1 as it does after you have paid for traffic that bounced.
Run a report before you spend on ads, SEO, a redesign, or an agency. A clear diagnosis makes every decision after it cheaper.
The AI Visibility Scan is worth running early too. It shows which competitors the AI engines already recommend in your category, and what the engines say when buyers ask about businesses like yours.
Before you start
What do I need to give Cruelx before a report runs?
Cruelx needs 2 things: your website address, and short answers about your business. What you sell, who you sell to, and what you want visitors to do.
The questions take about 1 minute, and they are what let the report judge your website against your actual goal instead of a generic checklist.
You also verify your email. That is what creates the account your reports live in.
Do I need to install anything or give Cruelx access to my site?
Cruelx needs no installation and no access to your website. There is nothing to add: no script, no plugin, no admin login, and no DNS change.
Cruelx reads your public page the same way a visitor or a search engine does. You paste 1 URL and the report runs.
If the page loads in a browser without signing in, Cruelx can review it.
Does Cruelx work with WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow or a custom site?
Cruelx works with any public website, on any platform. It reads the page your visitors see, so the technology behind it makes no difference: WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Framer, or something your developer built.
Cruelx also detects which technologies your site runs on and lists them in paid reports. That is 1 of the 17 measured checks every report carries.
Does Cruelx review my whole site or just one page?
Each Cruelx report reviews 1 page in depth, the URL you submit, plus the domain-level signals behind it: security headers, SSL, DNS and email records, domain age, robots and sitemap files.
Most people start with their homepage, then run separate reports on the pages that carry the money: a landing page, a pricing page, a product page.
Monthly plans include Quick Reports, which keeps reviewing several pages cheap.
Is Cruelx available in languages other than English?
You can submit a website in any language. Cruelx reviews it at the same depth and with the same scoring as an English site, and writes the report in English.
In the Full Report, suggested copy rewrites are the exception: those come in your site's own language, so you can paste them straight into the page.
Reports and what you get
Is the Free Report really free?
The Free Report costs nothing and needs no card. You get 1 Free Report a day.
It gives you an overall score out of 100, a score for each of the 5 areas, the top 3 issues, 3 quick wins, and a short closing read. Most of the measured technical checks are included too.
The Full Report is what you pay for.
What is the difference between the Free Report and the Full Report?
The Free Report tells you something is wrong and where. The Full Report tells you exactly what to change, and in what order.
The Free Report gives an overall score, scores for all 5 areas, the top 3 issues, 3 quick wins, and most of the measured technical checks. The Full Report adds every finding across all 5 areas, the complete technical and SEO breakdowns, copy rewrites, buyer-psychology analysis, a 48-hour, 7-day and 30-day plan, and a downloadable PDF.
The 2 scores can differ, and that is expected. The Free Report scores your site with a single fast pass; the Full Report runs the complete analysis on more advanced flagship models and computes the overall score in code. When they disagree, the Full Report is the more precise read.
What does the Full Report include?
The Full Report is the complete diagnosis of 1 website: every check, every finding, and a plan.
You get an overall score plus a score for each of the 5 areas, each with its own summary and detailed findings, and a specific fix attached to every finding.
Beyond that: an executive summary, the issues costing you most, quick wins, an SEO checklist, technical issues ranked by severity, copy rewrites, design and typography feedback, buyer-psychology levers, and a prioritized plan for the next 48 hours, 7 days and 30 days.
Every Full Report also includes your measured site data: security grade, SSL, DNS and email trust, domain age, and detected technologies. It arrives in your dashboard and as a designed 45+ page PDF you can download and share.
What is a Quick Report?
A Quick Report is the fast scan included with monthly plans: a mini website audit covering the essentials, with no upgrade prompts.
Each one gives you an overall score, scores for all 5 areas, the top 3 issues, 3 quick wins, and a closing read, plus a visual scan of your desktop and mobile pages and the full technical checks: email, DNS, SSL, security and detected technologies.
They are built for re-scanning: run one before and after every change to see what moved, or check a prospect's site in a minute or two. Starter includes 90 Quick Reports a month, Agency 300, and Agency Pro 750, on top of your Full Reports. A one-time Full Report purchase includes 5 as well, and those never expire.
How long does a Cruelx report take?
Most Cruelx reports finish in 1 to 2 minutes. You can watch the progress, and the report lands in your dashboard the moment it is done.
The pipeline loads your page, captures desktop and mobile screenshots, runs the analysis across all 5 areas, and assembles the report.
Slow or complex sites take a little longer. If a site cannot be analyzed at all, the run stops and nothing is charged.
Can Cruelx help my website get more customers?
Cruelx finds the reasons visitors leave without buying, which is the first step to keeping more of them. It looks for the 7 that cost the most: weak headlines, unclear offers, missing proof, poor mobile flow, thin trust signals, confusing calls to action, and slow pages.
Cruelx does not promise traffic or revenue. It shows you what is costing you customers and what to change first. What happens next depends on what you fix.
What should I do first after I get my report?
Start with the 48-hour plan at the end of your Full Report. Cruelx ranks findings by what they cost you, so the plan opens with the changes that move the most for the least work.
The 7-day and 30-day plans follow, in the same order of priority.
Run the report again once the changes are live. The new score, and the findings that disappear from it, show you what actually worked.
Scores and accuracy
How is the Cruelx score calculated?
The Cruelx overall score is computed in code, as a weighted average of the 5 area scores. It is arithmetic, not a number a model chose.
Each of the 5 areas is scored out of 100 from the findings in that area, and the areas carry different weights because they do not affect your results equally.
That is why the number moves when you fix high-severity findings, and barely moves when you fix cosmetic ones.
The AI Visibility Scan score is computed the same way: in code, from the measured appearance rates across the engines, on its own 0 to 100 scale with its own band names.
How accurate is Cruelx's analysis?
Cruelx findings are accurate enough to act on, and every one points at something you can verify yourself in minutes: a headline, a missing trust signal, a technical result.
Cruelx runs a structured pipeline rather than a single chatbot prompt. It loads your page, captures desktop and mobile screenshots, extracts your content and technical signals, and analyses each of the 5 areas with vision-capable frontier models. The overall score is then computed in code from those results.
What it is not: a consultant who knows your business history, or a tool that can see your private analytics. Cruelx reviews what a first-time visitor and a search engine can see, which is exactly the view that decides whether people trust you and buy.
Which AI models does Cruelx use?
Cruelx uses AI models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Perplexity.
Website diagnosis and AI visibility measurement both need strong reasoning and visual judgment. That is what the analyses behind your reports are built on.
We move to better models as they ship, so your results always reflect where the models are today.
Can I change how blunt the report is?
You choose the tone before the report runs, on a 5-step slider that starts at Professional. It changes how the findings are written, never what Cruelx looks for.
The checks, the number of findings, the score and the fixes are identical at every setting. Nothing is withheld at the gentler end and nothing extra appears at the harder one.
Pick the wording you would actually pass to your team.
AI Visibility Scan
What is the AI Visibility Scan?
Cruelx AI Visibility Scan measures your AI search visibility across 6 AI engines in one scan: the questions buyers ask about businesses like yours, asked 270 times. You get a 0 to 100 score, appearance rates per engine, every answer on record, and a ranked fix list.
It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and a separate product from the Cruelx website reports, with its own report and its own designed PDF.
How is the AI Visibility Scan different from a Cruelx website report?
A Cruelx website report reviews your site itself: SEO, technical setup, design, copywriting and buyer psychology, with a fix attached to every finding.
The Cruelx AI Visibility Scan measures something your site cannot show you: whether the AI answer engines mention or recommend your business when buyers ask.
Run a report to improve your site. Run a scan to find out whether AI is sending buyers your way.
Which AI engines does the scan ask?
The Cruelx AI Visibility Scan asks 6 AI engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Claude.
Each engine is measured and reported separately, including the ones most tools charge extra for, so you can see which ones name you and which ones do not.
Every question is asked from the United States, and your report states the market it ran in along with its date.
Does the AI Visibility Scan include Claude?
The Cruelx AI Visibility Scan includes Claude in every scan, at no extra cost.
That is rare in this category: most visibility tools charge extra for Claude coverage, reserve it for enterprise plans, or skip it entirely. Cruelx asks Claude the same buyer questions as every other engine and reports it separately, so you can see exactly what it says about your business.
How long does an AI Visibility Scan take?
Most Cruelx scans finish in 10-15 minutes.
The scan asks 6 engines the same buyer questions many times over. That is what makes the result a pattern rather than a single answer.
You do not need to wait on the page. The scan continues if you close the tab, and we email you when your report is ready.
Do scan credits expire?
Cruelx scan credits never expire. Credits from any purchase stay in your account until you use them.
Every scan order also includes 5 Quick Reports for your website, and those never expire either.
What happens if a scan fails?
A Cruelx scan that fails restores your credit automatically, and we email you when that happens.
You can run the scan again whenever you want, and credits never expire.
Pricing and billing
How much does Cruelx cost?
A Cruelx Full Report is $8.99 for 1 website, one time. The Free Report costs nothing and needs no card.
Monthly plans add volume: Starter is $25 a month for 5 Full Reports and 90 Quick Reports, Agency is $75 a month for 20 Full Reports and 300 Quick Reports, and Agency Pro is $149 a month for 50 Full Reports and 750 Quick Reports. Both Agency plans include client-ready branded reports.
There are no setup fees and no contracts. One-time purchases are one-time, and monthly plans cancel anytime.
The AI Visibility Scan is $19.99 for 1 scan, one time. A 3-pack is $49, a 10-pack is $129, and scan credits never expire.
Can I cancel anytime, and what happens to my reports?
You can cancel a Cruelx plan at any time. There is no lock-in and no cancellation fee, and you keep access to your remaining reports through the end of the period you already paid for.
Reports you have already run stay in your dashboard. Anything you bought one time stays yours, including a Full Report and the 5 Quick Reports that come with it.
Can I get a refund?
In rare cases, a technical failure stops a Cruelx report from being generated or from being usable. If that happens, email contact@cruelx.com and we will regenerate it, restore the credit, or refund it. A run that fails is never charged in the first place.
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy as the merchant of record, so Cruelx never sees or stores your card details.
The AI Visibility Scan works the same way: a scan that fails restores your credit automatically.
Am I charged if my site cannot be analyzed?
A Cruelx run that fails is never charged. Cruelx reviews public pages only, so 4 things stop a run before it produces a report: a login wall, a paywall, a blocked fetcher, or a page that will not load.
Your report returns to your account the moment the run stops. Run it again once the page is reachable.
Privacy and your data
Why do you need my email?
Cruelx uses your email to keep your reports available and to confirm you are a person rather than a bot.
Reports are never delivered by email. They live in your dashboard, which is where you read them, download the PDF, and find them again later.
Verifying your email is what creates the account those reports belong to. Nothing is installed and no access to your website is granted.
Is my website data used to train AI models?
Cruelx sends your page content and screenshots to OpenAI through its business API, which does not use data sent through it to train models.
What Cruelx sends is what is already public on your website: the page any visitor can see. Cruelx does not sell your data and does not share it for advertising.
Our Privacy Policy lists every provider involved and what each one receives.
Limits and troubleshooting
What if my site blocks crawling or requires a login?
Cruelx reviews public pages only, so 3 things put a page out of reach: a login, a paywall, or a fetcher block. Cruelx never signs in on your behalf.
When that happens the run stops instead of producing a half-report, and nothing is charged. If you paid with a credit, that credit returns to your account automatically.
Bot protection is the usual cause. Allowing our fetcher, or submitting a page that is not behind the challenge, is normally enough.
Does Cruelx redesign or fix my site for me?
Cruelx diagnoses; it does not build. Every finding comes with a specific fix and the reasoning behind it, and paid reports include rewritten copy where the wording itself is the problem.
The implementation is yours, your developer's, or your designer's. That is why the report ends with a 48-hour, 7-day and 30-day plan: it turns opinions into a priority list everyone can work from.
I fixed the issues. Why has my score not changed?
A Cruelx score moves when the findings behind it change, so a re-run can land near the old number if the highest-weighted issues are still open.
Check which findings the report still lists. The overall score is a weighted average of the 5 areas, so fixing several small items moves it less than fixing 1 severe one.
Caching is the other common cause. Cruelx reads what your site serves at that moment, so clear your cache before you re-run.
